  • Caught Her Eye

    Caught Her Eye

In this image, the Algonquin Wolf had caught some movement out on the ice. I had seen a Beaver out there earlier. Beavers are a big part of a wolves diet. In the spring and the fall, Beavers are out on the ice more, so make an easier target for the wolves!

  • On the Ice

    On the Ice

This is the Algonquin Wolf I had seen in the morning. Here she was out on the ice trying to hunt a Beaver!!

  • Passing By

    Passing By

This is the same wolf from the previous image, but as she trotted past me on the trail. She kept her eyes on me the whole time, but was so timid and nervous. I was in awe of how beautiful she was.

  • Those Eyes

    Those Eyes

I was actually sitting on a bench on a trail in Algonquin, when 2 wolves came out of the trail. They wanted to pass, but there was water on both sides. I stayed quiet and still, and the braver wolf stood in front while this one passed. How amazing it was. People ask me if I was afraid of them, and I never felt any fear. They kept their distance and headed up the other way on the trail. I later saw this girl hunting out on the ice!

  • Algonquin Pair

    Algonquin Pair

I had been tracking a pack of 4 Algonquin Wolves all day in the fresh snow. I knew they had been around recently, but I hadn't seen anything, so I was headed back. I got to the other side of the fallen log, and there were fresh tracks, 2 sets, headed into the woods. I backtracked and waited patiently for well over an hour, then a wolf appeared. I took a few images and it turned around. Then another appeared...I was so amazed by them. I took a few images, and they heard my shutter, and disappeared as quietly as they had appeared. So beautiful!

  • The White Wolf

    The White Wolf

I had been tracking wolves for quite a while along this trail. I heard a wolf howling, so I waited, sitting down low on the ground. This beautiful White Algonquin Wolf came out of the trail and looked in my direction. She stayed for a brief moment, and headed back the other way. I had never seen on with this colouring!!

  • What's That?

    What's That?

I was watching a few American Martens running around the trees. Someone was walking a dog towards a trail, and this one was checking out what the dog was up to! They are super inquisitive!!

  • Freeze Frame!

    Freeze Frame!

I have tried to capture these amazingly fast animals running for quite a while. It's usually in bad light, a blurry image or they are already out of frame!! They are so fast, so when I caught this guy jumping off the snow in mid jump, I was thrilled!

  • Wet Wolf

    Wet Wolf

It had been raining, snowing and then raining again. I was dug into a hole, sitting for hours. There were so many wolf tracks in the wet sand and the fresh snow. I knew they were close by. This beautiful wolf ended up coming out of the trail on his own. He kept sniffing the air and looking around, but he didn't know I was there. He then turned around, and I thought he was leaving. He then sat down, then laid down on the ground. I couldn't believe it!! He stayed there for quite a while, until a couple of hikers came along behind where I was. He got up, started to leave, then sat back down. I had motioned for them to stay still. They got a lovely view of him, but they didn't stay still for long, and scared him back into the woods. They then decided to follow the wolf. He was long gone. What a beautiful encounter I had!
